Summer has arrived!

Summer is the season of details!

Well really every season is but I think summer demands more of it. Like the way you can feel a single sweat droplet start to run down your forehead - and follow it through its entire journey. Or get lost in the journey of a bee visiting every little flower near the brunch table. Summer calls for slowing down even if we want rushing waters and blowing winds to meet us. I Love Summer.

For me, it’s the season where my muscles relax enough to start to unwind some of their tension knots - and my skin soaks in the vitamin D enough to help energize and fortify. There is an energy to summer that just isn’t present in the other seasons - and prepares me for the next.

I am excited to take on some new projects this summer. One will be outdoor morning classes, two new elements for my routine: teaching outside (which I love but haven’t gotten much opportunity to do in Boston!) and teaching early in the morning (well 7:30a but to me that’s early). I’m both overwhelmed by this new addition and confident it will be good for me. I particularly love this class because it’s a chance to offer FREE yoga to the public. I did not start teaching yoga because I think it’s an elite practice that folks need to commit to for accolades - I started teaching yoga because it helped calm my crazy mind, relieve some of my chronic pains, and frankly helped me feel WAY better in digestion and sleep. While teaching in studio is an honor and a joy- offering the space to move and flow to the public for free really gets me excited and motivated to wake up with the sun and get out the door. I hope to see you there: 7:30am PO Square Boston, Free 8 weeks of yoga in the park! Regular schedule stays: Wednesdays Corepower 4:15p sculpt, 6:00p heated flow; Thursdays Sunbeam 4:30p flow, 6:00p pilates; Sunbeam Friday 12:00p sculpt!

My other projects? Training for two marathons with actual pace targets AND tracking with my moon cycle. I have learned a PROFOUND amount about how hormone waves change training thresholds, digestion, mood, even mindset. Fascinating. This is more of a personal project versus one that I intend to create anything specific with - but it’s a journey I am ALWAYS happy to dive into - especially if others are embarking on this whirlwind journey as well. So Berlin and Chicago - here I come - one step at a time. And if you want to go on a run, please tell me and let’s go!

This fall I am looking forward to the travels that will come with both chances to teach and chances to run!

First up are two retreats to Greece - OLOS will bring us to Chios and Mani this year.

  • Sept 13-19 we will explore Chios, the island of Homer, the mastic tree, and famous for it’s Byzantine architecture. Wildly close to Turkey (4 miles away!) this is the fifth largest island in the Greek island series and I’m most excited to see how the elements of Mastic Alchemy and connection to foraging color the activities we will find. A historic mansion renovated into guest suites while preserving natural architecture will be a precious space to explore and learn from some the greatest history of Greece.

  • On October 18-24 we are off to Mani, actually part of mainland but in the Pelopenesse near Kalamata - covered in olives, stone architecture and mountainous landscapes. This journey is bound to be full of space, incredible sunsets, and art - creation - creativity. With each OLOS journey I find a new layer of Xenophilia - the Greek concept of hospitality which is truly like no other. I can’t emphasize enough how much each of these experiences is an exceptional time to relax, enjoy, and reflect. We will be staying in a collection of Villas on a mountainside that overlooks the ocean. Each villa has two bedrooms and a private pool to accompany - I can’t imagine a better spot to put up my feet and watch the clouds.

Consider joining us! A few spots are still remaining!

In between Greece trips I’ll swing through Berlin for the marathon on Sept 27 and Chicago for the marathon on October 11. This plan definitely sounds more casual than it will feel but I assure you I will be bringing glitter and a sense of awe and wonder with gratitude as my fuel.

My final destination of this year will be back to Nosara for our annual Welcome Home adventure! Although I spent the first month of this year in Costa Rica, it was on the other coast and I was learning how to make chocolate! In October it will be 1 full year since I’ve been back and to say that my body and being craves it would be an understatement. There is an element of self discovery, personal recharge and connection that happens for me while I’m there and it’s always a complete honor to share pieces of a place I call home with those who join on this travel.

  • Oct 31-Nov 7 we will stay at the Bodhi Tree Resort for a week of play, discovery, and movement of all styles. This year our group will get to explore more diverse beachside workouts, get a chance to flip around on aerial hammocks again, a pickle ball excursion is in the works, and a group snorkel adventure. We will continue our commitment to a community sweat lodge, an experience that sits very dear to my heart. With a variety of collaborators, limitless opportunities to explore movement, and the allure of stillness to watch the sunset, sunrise, and ocean waves - I cannot wait. If you wish to join this year there are also a few spots so reach out soon!

Those are snippets of my journeys - I would love to hear about yours! I feel like this year will be a big one for a lot of us.

In light and love,

Yours always,

Angie
